  • Lead negotiations with partners and also lead the internal cross- functional team.
  • Present business case to senior management.
  • Identify new licensing opportunities and seek potential partners for them
  • Negotiate term sheet and prepare business case
  • Lead due-diligence team and ensure compliance/QA review is performed.
  • Develop and seek approval for new Business Development opportunities.
  • Evaluate, review and provide input regarding major proposals and their impact on the organization.
  • Organize and delegate implementation of program, process and report improvements or additions.
  • Interface with higher-level managers in various functions within the company to ensure that the function is anticipating and meeting internal and external needs and structured to produce effective strategies/reports.
  • Manage employees or contractors/vendors either directly or indirectly who are engaged in two or more areas of Business Development.
  • Direct the activities of resources, both internal and outside contractors/vendors, with similar technical or functional responsibilities.
  • Responsible for implementing operational and strategic policies and directives.
  • Develop functional processes for area managed.
  • Interface with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs.
  • Ensure timely closure of business cases including ROI/CFROI assessment of the projects
  • Work independently to close deals.
  • Support local M&A activities where applicable
  • Number of successfully closed deals especially in branded, biosimilars or branded Generics space
  • Active participation and influence on key deal terms and structure
  • High quality delivery and timely submission of deal case presentations
  • Clarity of recommendations on go / no go decisions
Skills: Skills/Requirements
  • Strong academic background, scientific background a plus
  • MBA, equivalent degree and/or qualified accountant
  • 10 years of relevant experience with BS degree
  • Requires the ability to influence others to achieve results.
  • Experience in Business Development is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 7+ years of Pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience should encompass more than one functional area (e.g. product development, regulatory affairs, product management, marketing, business development, finance, etc.).
  • Understand the basics of pharmaceutical forecasting and competitive dynamics in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Understand the basics of financial analysis and product P&L modeling.
  • Negotiate commitments and timelines from internal and external parties
  • Good knowledge of legal matters related to licensing contracts
