Assist with the implementation of a site-wide strategy for Contractor Safety.
Responsible for the daily implementation of elements of the Contractor Safety program at the site, further referred to as “areas within scope”.
Be proactive in providing safety services at the areas within scope to protect people, reduce risk, and to strive for continuous improvement in safety performance, specifically for areas within scope.
Responsible for the weekly delivery of the Contractor General Safety Briefing.
Assist with the incident investigation process related to construction and maintenance vendors, including trend analysis, metrics, and reporting to management.
Provide training on appropriate topics in an effective manner
Assist the Facility and Contractor Safety Lead in working with regulatory agencies responsible for areas within scope, building relationships with these agencies, and advocating for and enhancing the reputation of the site with government agencies.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Management Systems that support and enhance areas within scope.
Responsible for in-field safety inspections and data entry into the Construction Safety Observation database, distribution and fllow up on observations with applicable contractors/vendor.
Prepare internal and external written communications.
eads the Job Hazard Analysis review and approval process.
Audits site permitting processes monthly (LOTO, CSE, Safe Work Permits etc.)
Coordinates and executes the authorization of required permits (crane use/lift plan, penetration/demolition, excavation, etc.)
OSHA 30 hour construction certification preferred (certification may be obtained concurrent with assignment)
A minimum of 5 year supervisory experience in Construction Safety Management is required.
Knowledge of construction trade craft, means and methods of construction is required.
Must be able to read and effectively interpret construction documents (plans, cross-sections, specifications, construction details)
General Industry safety experience is a plus.
Previous experience in a pharmaceutical research environment highly desirable.
