Apply Field Engineering Specialist Job Post Index 2364EA-Sy## Location Ashburn, VA Description: DescriptionResponsible for the performance of RF safety studies, field measurements, troubleshooting, site surveys, path surveys and completing preliminary microwave design. Path surveys are completed in multiple frequency bands such as 5.8GHz, 11GHz, 18GHz and 23GHz. Troubleshoot interference issues in the field using a spectrum analyzer and will interact directly with the end customer to resolve interference and signal level-related issues. Conducts microwave design using PathLoss in support of external projects.Works as part of a team with other engineers, technical assistants, project managers, and departments.Perform RF measurements and RF safety studies using a spectrum analyzer or other test equipmentConduct path surveys in the field to verify line-of-sight objectivesConduct site surveys to identify antenna placement locationsConduct site surveys to identify equipment requirements for a microwave installationDesign microwave networks using microwave design software toolsConduct troubleshoots and document resolution of interference related issuesServe as liaison between client, industry consultants and internal engineering staff Skills: Qualifications Associates Degree; ORNCO with 2-5 years relevant experienceEngineering background is helpful Experience with a spectrum analyzer and amplifier Experience working outdoors and in remote locations.Wireless Microwave backhaul and Patloss software experience.Point to point microwave experienceSite and path surveys experience Microwave equipment installation experience RF site tech experience is acceptable FCC amateur radio license is helpfulTier 2 carriers experience highly preferredAble to work independently Microwave site and passivity experience requiredExperience with geographic coordinate systems and map datumsAmplifier experience preferredDemonstrated understanding of interference analysis, microwave design, RF power density measurements and technologies such as GSM, CDMA, GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA, WiMax and LTEProficiency in Windows suite of office toolProficiency in the use of related field equipment such as laser range finder, theodolite and GPSPrevious military experience is useful (Air Force-3D1X3, Army-25P/25S, Navy-ET-14CM/ ET-1433)Exhibit good customer service skills orally and in writing. Able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.Can provide satisfactory turn-around time on projects, good organization, keeping the client informed of work status, and being responsive to client requests.Experience with telecommunications mainly microwave/RF.
