Description
- Measures current, and forecasts future, market activity and trends.
- Conducts primary research and uses secondary data research sources.
- Manages individual research projects, budgets and deadlines.
- Evaluates findings, prepares reports and makes recommendations to market insights manager about the implications of alternative sales, marketing, and business development strategies.
- Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g., Compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
- Monitors and appropriately adjusts budgets
- Owns the market research reporting needs within the Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) team.
- Maintains insights portal to ensure timely updates and team accessibility
- Builds dashboards or other tools that team members can use daily
- Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
- Keeps the organization's strategic intent at the forefront of planning, decision making and action.
- Identifies the key activities and functions of market research.
- Describes different approaches and methodologies used in market research.
- Gathers information regarding the rationale for applying market research in a given marketing discipline.
- Assesses key sources of information for basic market research.
- Practical working experience with data visualization, allowing it to be applied in basic routine situations with minimal guidance or supervision.
Skills:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Marketing, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields
- 5 years of experience in market insights/market analytics and forecasting/finance or related field, and proven success leading analytics/ insight generation
- Strong analytical skills; familiar and able to analyze secondary data, integrating data from different data sources, building in assumptions and modeling when full data is unavailable
- Significant expertise in Excel (v-look up and pivot tables) and PowerPoint
- Sense of urgency, and ability to be flexible and adaptable in fast-paced data-driven multi-cultural environment and a team player
- Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Proven sensitivity towards confidentiality and understanding of all requirements and corporate policies and guidelines that impact legal and ethical conduct
- Experience within the Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or Biotechnology industry
- Experience with strategic planning, market research, and/or competitive intelligence
- Top tier strategy / management consulting background
- Proficiency with SPSS, Cognos, data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qliksense, PowerBI, etc.
